A Catholic Retreat for High School Girls

October 23-25, 2026 | Schweitzer Mountain | Sandpoint, ID

As women, we are given a unique call linked with our feminine nature. Knowing who we are in God’s eyes allows us to move forward confidently to discern and fulfill his mission for our lives.

~

In an age of confusion and blurred lines, women are being erased. The reality is that we were created to nourish, form, love, and forgive because of our God-given receptivity. By understanding who we are as women, and the unique call God has given us by virtue of our sex, Made for This seeks to challenge, encourage, and equip young women to properly and joyfully discern their vocation in life, and to take their God-given gifts out into the world.

“The Church gives thanks for all the manifestations of the feminine genius which have appeared in the course of history, in the midst of all peoples and nations…”
-Pope St. John Paul II, Mulieris Dignitatem

Who We Are

We are Catholic wives, mothers, and homemakers passionate about studying and living out our unique vocation as women.

Our daughters share this vocation and as they prepare to enter adulthood, we are seeking to give them a solid foundation upon which to build. It is by knowing their intrinsic worth in the eyes of God and being confident in their God-given call as women that they will be able to meet the onslaught of voices vying for their attention. As strong women, building upon their love of Christ, we hope to give them the tools to discern not only their vocations in life, but their unique mission: their call within the call.

From left to right, Mary Claire, Samantha, Ashley, and Grace.

Mary Claire Shoff lives with her husband and five children in the foothills of the Selkirk Mountains. When not homeschooling, she and her children help her husband to build their family homestead. As a mother of pre-teen and teenage daughters, she is acutely aware of the bombardment of secular messaging that young women receive and its damaging effects on them. She is honored to be a part of the Made For This Retreat and its noble mission to help teenage girls form the foundation for their identities as women in Christ.

Samantha Webb is a wife, homemaker and mother of 4 young children. She spent 4.5 years in Carmel and through her discernment journey discovered the need to delve into our nature and vocation as women. Samantha is passionate about helping women and young ladies discover and live this beautiful vocation.

Ashley Walden is a wife and homeschooling mother raising 2 young daughters in the countryside of North Idaho. She converted to the Catholic faith as a young adult after being raised in the New Age movement, and is passionate about helping young girls find their strength, purpose, and identity in Christ.

Grace Drinkwater is a wife, mother, and former high school teacher (including 2.5 years at Coeur du Christ Academy) with a passion for mentoring our young people as they navigate the challenges of adolescence and young adulthood. Her time in the military and conversion to Catholicism have helped her grow in her understanding of the feminine genius as she strives to live out God’s call in her life
